North of England Best Practice Awards

Best Practice - Innovation

Introduction

North of England Excellence is delighted to announce the 2010 Best Practice Award for Innovation, sponsored by the Manufacturing Institute. This was run previously in conjunction with the 2002 to 2005 North West Business Excellence Awards when it was known as the Innovative Enterprise Award. It will be presented at the North of England Excellence Awards Ceremony in Leeds on Thursday 14th October 2010.

The Best Practice Award for Innovation will recognise imaginative and creative ideas, initiatives, enterprises, projects or products that have been introduced since 1st January 2009 and have helped your organisation emerge successfully from the current economic downturn. Organisations of any type and size can apply and, to meet the criteria detailed on the entry form which follows, you need to demonstrate a significant benefit to the development of your people, to your customers or to society in general.

The actual Award will take the form of a distinctive trophy and certificate for each winner, and a licence to carry the winner’s logo on business stationery. The public relations surrounding the Awards, together with the opportunity to use the North of England Excellence Best Practice Award for Innovation logo on corporate literature and promotional material, will clearly establish the winner(s) as role model organisations in managing change and introducing innovation and creativity.

In the year following presentation of an Award, winning organisations will be invited to share their experiences and progress made at conferences and events organised by North of England Excellence. This offers winners an excellent platform for the promotion of their organisation and to enhance their status as role models of Excellence.

Entries will be assessed by a small team of experienced assessors drawn from leading organisations within the region. You will be assessed in respect of two key areas – Leadership & Management and “Customer” Results; and final judging will be by the North of England Excellence Awards Jury.

The entry fee is £150 (plus VAT), reduced to £125 (plus VAT) for NoEE or Joint NoEE/BQF Members. Entries must be made using this Entry Form, and must be submitted to North of England Excellence by 5pm on Friday 30th July 2010.
